Part-Time Teaching Assistant – Penrith area

Hannett Hale Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a welcoming primary school on the outskirts of Penrith to recruit a caring and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 3.

This role will initially be for 15 hours per week across five mornings, with the potential for hours to increase following a review period once the pupil has settled and the school has had the opportunity to assess his ongoing needs.

About this Teaching Assistant role

Job Details:

The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 3 pupil who requires additional emotional support due to challenging life circumstances. The focus of this role will be on helping the child feel safe, secure and engaged in school, enabling him to develop positive relationships and access learning successfully.

You will work alongside the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent, nurturing support, helping the pupil navigate the school day and develop confidence both socially and academically.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children.
  • Be patient, empathetic and emotionally resilient.
  • Have a nurturing approach and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Be able to provide consistent support and positive encouragement.
  • Work effectively as part of a school team.
  • Have experience supporting pupils with social, emotional or behavioural needs (desirable but not essential).
