Learning Support Assistant – Kendal

Hannett Hale Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a supportive secondary school in Kendal to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant for the new academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming school community, supporting students in accessing learning and achieving their potential. The position is due to start in September and will initially run until October half term, with the potential to be extended.

Job Details:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support within the classroom. You will assist teaching staff in creating an inclusive learning environment, helping students to engage positively with lessons and develop both academically and socially.

The role may involve supporting individual students, small groups, or working alongside the wider SEND team to ensure pupils receive the support they need throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Be confident supporting students across a range of subjects.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, understanding and able to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Work effectively as part of a team whilst also using their own initiative.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their full potential.
