How we work

Safeguarding

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, and we operate a strict safer recruitment process in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and all relevant UK legislation.

Safeguarding in Education

Our Recruitment Standards

Compliance with KCSIE

Our recruitment processes follow Keeping Children Safe in Education and all relevant UK safeguarding legislation. We apply safer recruitment principles without exception.

Enhanced DBS & Barred List Checks

Every candidate undergoes an Enhanced DBS check for the Child Workforce, including a barred list check. No placement is made until this is verified.

Identity & Right to Work Verification

We confirm photographic ID, proof of address and legal right to work in the UK. All documentation is checked and recorded before clearance.

Prohibition & Regulatory Checks

Where applicable, we complete Prohibition from Teaching and Section 128 checks. Regulatory status is verified through the appropriate governing bodies.

Qualification Verification

We verify all relevant qualifications, including QTS where required. Certificates and professional registrations are checked before approval.

Employment History & References

Candidates must provide a full employment history with gaps explained. A minimum of two professional references are obtained and verified directly.

Safeguarding Interview Assessment

All candidates complete a safeguarding-focused interview with our trained consultants. This assesses conduct, boundaries and understanding of reporting procedures.

Our safeguarding commitment

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do and underpins every introduction we make to schools across Cumbria and Lancashire. We are fully committed to promoting and protecting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring that every teacher, teaching assistant and support professional we supply meets the highest standards of suitability and conduct. Our safer recruitment processes are rigorous, transparent and aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education, giving schools complete confidence that safeguarding is not just a policy, but a daily practice embedded throughout our organisation.
