Nursery Teacher – Part Time – Whitehaven

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher to join a lovely primary school in Whitehaven, teaching in their Nursery class every Friday throughout the next academic year.

This is a long‑term placement, and the school are keen to welcome someone who can fully commit to the role and become part of their team. The class is well‑established, and you will be supported by a friendly staff group who value consistency and a nurturing approach.

Previous experience teaching in EYFS / Foundation Stage would be a strong advantage, as the role involves delivering engaging early‑years learning, supporting children’s development, and working closely with the EYFS team to ensure continuity for the class.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who loves early years, enjoys building relationships, and is looking for a consistent weekly role within a supportive school environment.

Job Details:

This long‑term position involves teaching in the school’s well‑established Nursery class, delivering engaging early years learning and supporting children’s development through play‑based, child‑centred activities. You will be welcomed by a friendly, supportive staff team who value consistency, collaboration and a nurturing approach.

You will work closely with the EYFS team to ensure continuity for the class, helping to create a warm, stimulating environment where children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in EYFS / Foundation Stage (strong advantage)
  • A warm, creative and child‑centred approach
  • Confidence delivering early years learning and supporting children’s development
  • Someone reliable, committed and able to become part of the school team

Pay: £120–£150 per day (DOE)
